Yoga Sutras In The Back Yard
The Essential Yoga Sutras of Patanjali & Easy home Gardening
The yoga sutras of Patanjali is a practical guide on how to live more joyfully. We will bring Patanjali’s sutras into the garden and apply some of the wisdom from this text towards a practical approach in maintaining our garden. As a group we will learn how a garden grows and use that as a metaphor for our own growth towards a more fruitful life.
Some of the themes/sutras we will discuss are:
Pranayama: The garden lives and breathes.
Asanas: Postures that bring you towards stillness.
Ekagrata: Knowing where to dig deep.
This workshop will focus on easy gardening for any backyard or balcony. The hardest part of having a garden, is to actually start it. We will cover the basics of composting, sprouting and plant maintenance for those of us with a not-so-green thumb.
This week is for students of all levels who want to deepen their knowledge on the practices of yoga philosophy and who don’t mind getting a little dirt on their hands.
